ABOUT:

Talia Nizarane (she/her) is an artist and researcher based in London. Her work explores the social role of art, the cultural impact of migration, and the effects of climate change in the Global South, informed by cultural and historical dilemmas in her home country, Cuba.

Previous residencies and collaborations include Lewisham Arthouse, London, UK (2025); In Place of War, London, UK and online (2024-5); PROGR Art Center, Bern, Switzerland (2024); Kyoto City University of Arts, Japan (2022-3); Yamanaka Suplex Studio, Osaka, Japan (2022-3); Shaufenster Dreiviertel, Bern, Switzerland (2021-4); Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland (2020-3); and Artist Residencies Enschede, The Netherlands (2020).

Her work has been featured at Tate Modern Lates: Beyond Surface, Tactile Presence, London, UK (2023); and Here’s One I Made Earlier, Off-Site Project, online (2022); and commissioned by the Bernardo Quetglas Collection in Mallorca, Spain (2020). In 2023, she became the first Cuban to graduate from the Royal College of Art.
