About:

I’m an artist who works with textiles, ceramics and text. Each medium interrelates to the next; appliquéd tapestries birthing fictional essays and terracotta plant pots informing embroidered costumes. I see each body of work as an assemblage of artefacts, reflecting my interest in how the objects we leave behind can reveal alternative narratives to the history text books.

I work in the heritage craft sector hand sewing and repairing ecclesiastical garments and furnishings. This work has provided me with a stable income to support my practise and many skills that I now employ in my art making. It’s from this rich knowledge that I work through ideas of English identity, particularly about how we forge connections to the land in an age of atheism and spiritual scepticism.
