About:
My work delves into the intricate relationship between objects and memory, using photography as a means to explore and articulate personal narratives and the loss of my mother. I am interested in the ways in which we hold onto, interpret, and reconstruct our pasts. Through this, I challenge the boundaries of what we can or cannot expect from a photograph.
My work often places photography as the starting point to exploring my own experiences and emotions - a practise in which both memory and absence can be reimagined. Often, I’m drawn to objects - the small, overlooked bits of life that carry the imprints and stains of past experiences. Framing serves as both a literal and metaphorical device in my work, shaping how we perceive and interact with memories. It is by framing or reframing that I explore the nature of collection and the archive, allowing viewers to glimpse at moments of intimacy and loss that are deeply personal yet universally resonant.
